Everything Obleevo does, shown step by step
Short films of the real app, each followed by its steps in writing. They play only when you press play, from this site: no video service, no tracking.
1. Open a room and invite someone
Two people, one link, connected end to end in under a minute.
- Type a nickname, tick the box, then press Create a room.
- Choose who can get in. Open suits most rooms: the link itself is the key.
- You are in your room. Press Invite to bring someone in.
- Send the link, show the QR code, or read out the code. The secret in the link never reaches our server.
- On the other device, the link opens the room. A nickname, then Join room.
- Connected, end to end. The green Verified badge means it really is them.
2. Check who you are talking to
Safety words, a QR code and the connection panel: proof, not trust.
- Everyone in the room is listed here, with how they are connected.
- Open the menu on a person, then Safety words.
- You both see the same words. Same words: nobody is in the middle.
- Side by side? Scan the QR code instead of reading the words.
- The connection panel shows how you are linked, and runs a privacy checkup.
- A look-alike name is called out, so an impostor cannot hide behind one.
3. Send files
Any size, straight from one device to the other, and nothing arrives without Accept.
- Press +, or simply drop files on the window.
- The other person sees the name, the size and a safety check. Nothing arrives until they accept.
- Accept, then choose where to save it.
- It goes straight from one device to the other, encrypted, as fast as your connection allows.
- Saved, and read back from the disk before it says so.
- Several files? Choose which goes first, or send whole folders.
4. Messages
Edit, react, disappear, view once and translate, all encrypted.
- Write in the chat. Messages go straight to the others, encrypted.
- React, reply, or open a message’s menu.
- Edit or delete your own messages, on every screen at once.
- Messages that disappear by themselves, 30 seconds after they land.
- View once: shown a single time, then gone for good.
- Translate other people’s messages on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
5. Voice calls
Your microphone opens only when you join, and your voice goes straight to the others.
- Press the microphone at the top to join the voice call. Your microphone opens only now.
- Everyone on the call has a tile that lights up when they speak.
- Mute and unmute in one press.
- Sound: Voice for talking, Music for an instrument or a song.
- Disguise your voice, on your device, before it leaves.
- Raise your hand to ask for the floor.
6. Screen, board and notes
Show your screen, draw on it, and write together, live.
- Share a window, a tab or your whole screen.
- The others see it live, straight from your device.
- Point and draw on the shared screen to show what you mean.
- The Board: a whiteboard everyone draws on together.
- Notes: write together, as you type. They disappear with the room.
7. Run your room
Who gets in, what the room allows, and how it ends: the host decides.
- When you create a room, choose who gets in: open, strict, with a password, or by knocking.
- Set its size, and turn files, screen, voice or the board on or off.
- In a knock room, you decide who comes in.
- Remove someone, or make them host.
- Receive files: guests can only send to you, and never see each other.
- Burn the room: everything is erased, and everyone is sent out.
8. Hide your IP address
Go through a relay so the others never see your address.
- Open Options, under the room card.
- Hide my IP: your connection goes through a relay, so the others never see your address.
- Test my network tells you what works from where you are.
- The result, in plain words.
- In the room, the connection panel confirms you are going through the relay.
9. Your vault
Files, notes and passwords in one encrypted file that only you can open.
- Open the Vault tab.
- Create a vault with a passphrase only you know. We never see it, and cannot recover it.
- Add files, notes and passwords.
- Save: it all becomes one encrypted file, on your device.
- Open it again later, anywhere, with your passphrase.
10. Passwords and 2FA codes
A password manager inside your vault, with no account anywhere.
- In an open vault, add a password.
- A strong one, generated in a click.
- 2FA codes: add the secret once, and the six digits appear here.
- Coming from another manager? Import its export file.
- Print an emergency kit, so you can always get back in.
11. Your own devices, with or without a server
A private clipboard between your phone and your computer.
- Open My devices.
- Connect my devices shows a QR code. Scan it with your phone.
- A private clipboard between your own devices: text, links and files.
- No server: the two devices show each other a code instead. Nothing goes through us.
- Scan, show the reply, and you are connected on the same Wi-Fi.
12. Erase, resume and prove
Leave without a trace, pick up a cut download, and prove a hand-over.
- Panic: press Esc three times, and you are out with everything wiped. As the host, the room burns for everyone.
- A big download cut off? In a new room, pick the partial file: only what is missing is sent.
- A receipt signed by both of you proves the file was handed over.
- Check a receipt, or this very version of Obleevo, on the Verify page.
